Who we are

Immersion English is an English language school based in Sofia, Bulgaria. We are responsible for the personal data described on this page. You can reach us at immersionenglish.ie@gmail.com.

What we collect, and why

  • Enquiries. When you send an enquiry form we receive your name, email address, your message and the topic you chose. We use it to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to arrange lessons or a place on the Dublin summer programme.
  • Bookings. If you enrol a child on the Dublin programme we need the details required to book and run it, such as the student's and parent's contact details. We share these with the partner centre that runs the programme only as far as needed to arrange the place.
  • Website usage (only if you accept cookies). Which pages are visited, roughly where from and on what device, so we can improve the site and understand what is useful.
  • Advertising measurement (only if you accept cookies). A Meta (Facebook) pixel records that a visit happened, so we can measure our adverts and show relevant ones to people who visited the site.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use the contact details you type into our forms for advertising matching: the Meta pixel's automatic form-data matching is switched off.

Cookies and similar technologies

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept cookies. Until you click Accept, the services in the table below are not loaded and nothing is sent to them. If you click Decline, they stay off.

Who processes your data

  • Netlify hosts the website and receives enquiry-form submissions on our behalf.
  • Google (Analytics) and Meta Platforms (Pixel) receive usage data, but only if you accept cookies. Their servers may be outside the EU/EEA; they rely on recognised transfer safeguards.
  • The partner centre running the Dublin programme, as described under Bookings.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to answer you and for any resulting booking or lessons, and are then deleted. Analytics and advertising data are held by Google and Meta under their own retention settings, which we keep to the shortest practical period.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent (cookies), you can withdraw it at any time with the button above. Email us and we will reply within a month.

You also have the right to complain to the Bulgarian data protection authority, the Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP), or to the authority in your own country.

Children

Our Dublin programme is for teenagers aged 12–17, but our website and advertising are aimed at parents and guardians. We ask parents to make enquiries and bookings on a child's behalf and do not knowingly collect data directly from children through the site.

Changes

If we change how the site works we will update this page and the date at the top.
